Yes, we are headed toward spring now and I think we are beyond the bad cold. Happy weekend to you, too!
So nice picture, and interesting to see these kind of houses are made in almost the same style as around here. The farmers use timber like that, and the sámi, the indigenous people use to “lift” the house off the ground, to protect food inside the house from big animals.
That is interesting, isn’t it? I can understand why both cultures would use the forest for raw materials, but it would be interesting to compare the way joints are made and the kinds of materials used to chink the logs. I think I’ll take some close-ups and post them. If you could, too, then we could compare.
There aren’t too many caches around the town build like this. Most now are built more simply and with less thought.
