Rite of Spring

We train 'em young!

We train ’em young!

How do you mark the coming of spring? Do you scalp and fertilize your lawn? Plant your garden? Go boating?

Here, we hold a week-long carnival and central to the event are mushing contests for every age. We certainly can’t prepare lawns that still lie under 20 inches of snow. We can’t plant a garden because temperatures are still way below freezing at night. And we can’t boat on a frozen river.

But we can sled on it! Many thanks to Igor Stravinsky for the title.

  1. I mark the coming of Spring with Sinusitus and Hayfever. LOL! I won’t mind being there for Spring and Summer. Lovely views Dave. 😀
